The Varsity and Junior Varsity Girls Track teams delivered outstanding performances last night Feb. 19, both earning first-place team titles at the SAISD Track Meet held at Alamo Stadium. The varsity squad was led by record-breaking performances from Trinity Pinto, who set a new school record in the 200m with a time of 25.34 and Ella Rodriguez, who broke the school record in the 1600m with a time of 5:14.07. Trinity Pinto also won gold in the 400m and Ella Rodriguez added a first-place finish in the 3200m. Additional varsity highlights include first-place finishes in the 4x100 and 4x200 relays, Analeese Moore in the triple jump, Kyndall Kirkpatrick in the high jump, and Arillia Brown in the long jump.
The JV team matched the varsity’s success with impressive top finishes from Valeria Padilla (3200m), Kaitlyn Sims (300m hurdles), Madeline Moreno (high jump), Belinda Limon (pole vault), and Delanie Rhea, who swept both the long jump and triple jump. The JV relays also secured first-place finishes in the 4x100 and 4x200. Unfortunately, the meet was cut short due to time constraints and the mile relay was not completed. The Panthers will return to action at the Dragon Relays on Thursday, February 26th, at SWISD beginning at 2:30 p.m.
